About
Hope & Things is an indie rock/ambient folk project from multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Justin Bartlett. Bartlett started the project in the summer of 2016 while visiting his parents in the quiet fields of Ohio to avoid the hustle and bustle of Boston city life. Being a traveler since childhood, Bartlett felt at home on the road and began demoing concepts that eventually lead to the release of H&T’s debut EP “Illusionary” in 2018.
A co-produced project with Devon Dawson of Beartone Studios, “Illusionary” draws from many indie staples including Bon Iver, Half Moon Run, Radiohead, and Fleet Foxes. The 5 song EP is laced with ethereal synths, melancholic lyrics, and thoughtful guitar work.
Since their debut release in 2018, Hope & Things has toured throughout the Northeast on multiple runs and has expanded beyond a solo project.
With the addition of Carly Kraft (Coral Moons) on vocals/synth/guitar, Jack Lewis (Jakals) on bass/keys, and Kevin O'Connell on drums, the band’s live shows have become electric performances driven by guitar grooves and held together with lush synths and reflective lyrics.
